MOUNTAIN OF GODS

Brgy. Batad, Banaue,Ifugao,Philippines

January 2007

The weather is cold, the view is an endless canvass of color green and blue, and a feeling of serenity, bliss and peace will suddenly engulf your whole being.

Up in the highlands of the Cordillera Mountain, Philippines, can be found Brgy. Batad, Banaue. one of the remote places in the country. From Manila it can be reached by traveling by bus for 12 hours, and then transferring to a bus or jeep ride for another hour. After the pit stop one needs to walk for almost 1.5 hours trekking the mountain and be welcomed by the 180 degrees view of this enormous hand carved mountain side by the ethnic group-IFUGAO’s. One of the UNESCO’s heritage site, and one of Philippine’s pride.

Its definitely worth the long hours of travel.
